Sewn Boards Binding
Sewn Boards binding是修復師Gary Frost研發的裝訂形式。其特點包括無支撐的縫線、使用少量的黏合劑、分離的書脊、縫合連接的書板和書肉、及與書肉平齊的書板。
在這個課程中，學員將加強基礎裝訂技術，並開始學習從cased construction(即書本和外殼分開準備)過渡到laced construction(即先連接書板和書肉，再處理封皮)。

The Sewn Boards binding is a modern adaptation of ancient bindings. The distinguishing features are unsupported sewing, use of minimal adhesive, a break away spine, boards sewn to the textblock, and a squareless cover.
In this workshop, participants will reinforce basic bookbinding skills and begin to move from cased construction (where the textblock and case are prepared separately) and begin to learn in-board work (where the boards are attached to the text block, and covering-in takes place on the book).
